Your writing in this article makes it sound like they lost user&#039;s critical personal data. 
They screwed up your NOTIFICATION settings, and were kind enough to send you an email asking you to reset them. 
 
This kind of stuff happens all the time, and at least it only happened to a few THOUSAND users, versus a few MILLION/BILLION.
