Winona Ryder and Mysterious Disappearing Diamonds

Oh, Wino Forever! Our schoolgirl sweetheart Winona Ryder is at it again — here’s the buzz roundup on “the Case of the Mysterious Disappearing Diamond.” Above is the picture! Winona Ryder is reportedly accused of stealing this Bulgari bracelet and ring.

Convicted shoplifter Winona Ryder is caught in the middle of an alleged jewelry theft.
The “Reality Bites” actress has been accused of swiping more than $124,000 worth of Bulgari jewels she borrowed for a Nov. 20 event sponsored by Marie Claire magazine in Madrid, according to TMZ.com.
Ryder, who was caught stealing from a Saks Fifth Avenue store in 2001, reported the diamond-encrusted bracelet and ring missing sometime after she left them in her hotel room to be picked up by someone from Marie Claire, the site says.
But according to French celebrity magazine Voici, Ryder says she left the jewels at the hotel’s front desk for safekeeping. Hotel management , meanwhile, claims they never received the jewels, insisting that they have no surveillance footage showing Ryder handing over the diamonds.

The jewels are reportedly still M.I.A.

The star had been given a diamond-encrusted bracelet and ring to wear to a Marie Claire magazine party in Madrid earlier this week.

She reported the items missing after allegedly handing them in to her hotel’s front desk in an envelope to be kept in the venue’s safe.

But according to the French magazine Voici, the hotel bosses have not yet been able to locate surveillance footage to prove Ryder’s claims, and Bulgari executives have now asked police to investigate the jewelry disappearance.

But according to the French magazine Voici, hotel management insist they have no surveillance footage showing her handing over the jewels. Executives at Bulgari, which owns the diamonds, apparently called in the police.

For her offence seven years ago, Miss Ryder was given three years of probation and 480 hours of community service.

The star of such films as Edward Scissorhands and Little Women was also ordered to attend counselling.

Miss Ryder appeared in good health at last week’s event in Madrid – a stark contrast to the frail figure who arrived at Heathrow only a day earlier.
