First Look At Tintin

This shot from The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn was taken during a few moments of down time on the set, and shows Tintin himself (Jamie Bell) and Captain Haddock (Andy Serkis) talking with Spielberg. You’ll have to check out the issue itself for more on the film, including more pictures, and more on the cast involved (notably Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as Thompson and Thomson). – from Empire Online

DreamWorks’ planned distribution deal with Universal Pictures has collapsed as the parties are unable to agree upon final terms. The failure of the agreement paves the way for Walt Disney Studios, which had earlier sought a distribution deal with DreamWorks, to step in as Steven Spielberg’s new studio home, according to people familiar with the situation. – from LAtimes

Steven Spielberg is on the verge of announcing a six-year, 30-film distribution deal with Walt Disney after the collapse of negotiations last week with Universal Studios. The deal, which would combine Hollywood’s most commercially successful director with its most sophisticated marketing and distribution machine, could be unveiled by Monday. – from FT

DreamWorks is close to inking a distribution deal with Disney that would replace a pact DreamWorks and Universal Pictures agreed upon in October but never signed. Sources close to the DreamWorks-Disney talks said lawyers from both camps were working all weekend and called a deal imminent, saying that it would likely close today or Tuesday. – from Variety

Hollywood Buzz: Penn and Depp as 3 Stooges, Pacino as Lear, Astro Boy photos

Wacky Rumor of the Day: Sean Penn and Johnny Depp as the Three Stooges (well, we’ll assume two of three). The Farrelly Brothers are behind the project.

The cast for Steven Spielberg’s “The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn” is set, with Jamie Bell, from “Billy Elliot” taking the title role. Daniel Craig will co-star as the Red Rackham.

Al Pacino is teaming with director Michael Radford to film one of the bard’s most famous plays – King Lear. The two did the Merchant of Venice in 2004, with Pacino as Shylock.

A couple of new Astro Boy shots popped up online today. Enjoy.

The Donnie Darko sequel is going straight to video. Wait, there was a sequel to Donnie Darko? When the frak did that happen? Apparently someone lured back Donnie’s sister for ‘S. Darko’. Lame. Here’s the trailer.

Whose Spielberg’s Favorite: Freakazoid, Animaniacs, or Pinky & the Brain?
