Favre to play for Vikings?

If you’ve spent the last year reading me on this site, then you know I’m no Favre fan. I’ve dragged this guy through more mud than should be allowed. But upon hearing that Favre asked to be released from the Jets – not once, but twice! – and they actually did it, I’m extremely excited.

Why? Because I’m convinced that this has nothing to do with Favre wanting to retire as a Green Bay Packer. No, this has everything to do with him wanting to play for the Vikings. – from Faniq

Brett Favre’s agent, Bus Cook, on Wednesday shot down rumors that the quarterback’s unconditional release from the Jets on Tuesday was a precursor to launching yet another comeback.

“He’s retired, working on his farm in Mississippi,” Cook said in brief a e-mail to USA TODAY’s Jarrett Bell in response to questions about Favre’s future plans. – from USAtoday
