Evan Rachel Wood Joins the Spider-Man Musical

Evan Rachel Wood and Alan Cumming have joined the cast of “Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark,” the upcoming Broadway musical about the famous web-slinger. Wood will portray Peter Parker’s girlfriend Mary Jane Watson, while Alan Cumming takes on the role of Norman Osborn, also known as the villainous Green Goblin. The musical, directed by Julie Taymor, begins preview performances Feb. 25, 2010, at the Hilton Theatre. Here’s the AP with more:

Evan Rachel Wood to join HBO’s True Blood as Vampire Queen

Evan Rachel Wood will play a vampire queen on the second season of HBO’s True Blood, TVGuide.com has confirmed. Wood will play the Queen of Louisiana, a 400-year-old vampire who rules over the undead world residing in the Bayou State. In the Sookie Stackhouse novels on which the series is loosely based, the Queen is a pivotal character in Books 2 and 3, as it’s on her authority that Bill and Sookie leave Bontemps for a secret mission to Texas. Wood has signed on for two episodes, but she is likely to recur throughout the series. – From TV Guide

The two attended Grey Goose’s Official SAG after-party at the Shrine on Sunday evening but were spotted leaving together enroute to the later after party at the Four Seasons Hotel. According to Pop Tarts spies, the actress went upstairs with Rourke (whose second marriage ended over a decade ago) when he suddenly grabbed her for a lip-lock in the outside area of the swanky five-star hotel. – from Foxnews

Evan Rachel Wood is the new Mary Jane Watson…. in the Spider-Man musical

IESB talked exclusively with actress Evan Rachel Wood today at the junket for THE WRESTLER in Beverly Hills.

We will post our entire video interview with Ms. Wood shortly and THE WRESTLER is easily one of the best films of the year.

But first, she gave us some casting information in regards to Marvel Entertainment’s SPIDER-MAN the musical that’s been in development for some time.
