Christina Ricci is Adam Sandler’s ‘Porn Star’

Christina Ricci is “Born to Be a Star.”

The actress along with Nick Swardson have signed on for the porn-tinged comedy that Adam Sandler co-wrote and is producing with Jack Giarraputo. Longtime Sandler associates Allen Covert and Barry Bernardi also are producing the flick, which Tom Brady is directing.

The story centers on a small-town nerd who stumbles upon a family secret: His quiet and demure parents were famous porn stars in the 1970s. This motivates him to leave Northern Iowa for Hollywood, hoping to follow in their footsteps and fulfill his destiny as the biggest adult-film star in the world.

Ricci, the female lead, is the guy’s innocent girlfriend.

Funny People Trailer – Starring Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen

The official trailer for Judd Apatow’s Funny People courtesy of Moviefone.

Over the past few years, writer/director Judd Apatow (‘The 40-Year-Old Virgin,’ ‘Knocked Up’) has shown that nothing — not even losing your virginity or the miracle of childbirth — is sacred. About his third film behind the camera, he says, “I’m trying to make a very serious movie that is twice as funny as my other movies. Wish me luck!” Apatow directs Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen and Leslie Mann in ‘Funny People,’ the story of a famous comedian who has a near-death experience.

Adam Sandler, Eric Bana, Jason Schwartzman, RZA and newcomer Aubrey Plaza join a cast that reunites Judd Apatow with Seth Rogen, Leslie Mann and Jonah Hill in their third comedy together.

A bunch of awesome looking Inglourious Basterds posters to revel in.

Here’s the trailer for Judd Apatow’s Funny People – with Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen.

Nice article on the marketing of the new Star Trek movie.

Word is out that the new Superman film will be Superman Unleashed. Legendary Pictures, Warner Bros and DC are still going on the premise it’s a sequel to the last Superman film – and not a reboot.

There’s a report that Universal is going to make a Battlestar Galactica movie – but it won’t have any thing to do with the current TV series. WTF? We anticipate a cheapo knockoff piece of shit – assuming anything ever really gets done.

Hollywood Buzz: Simpsons whine, Gaiman wins, Tomb Raider back, Jacko sued

Poor girls. Ashlee Simpson is knocking those who are pointing out that her sister, Jessica, has put on some recent poundage.

Joaquin Phoenix’s rap career was a big hoax. We figured, but you never know sometimes.

Neil Gaiman’s fantasy novel ‘The Graveyard Book’ won the Newbery Medal for young readers, plus Gaiman announced the screenwriter/director Neil Jordan will be involved in bringing the award-winning book to the screen.

A new Tomb Raider movie is reportedly headed for the big screen – sans Angelina Jolie. The first two were shite – let’s hope they actually write a story for this one.

Michael Jackson is being sued by Director John Landis regarding profits not delivered for classic 14-minute video and the clip’s “making of” documentary since at least 2005. Jackson just announced ‘Thriller’ would be headed to broadway.

The Green Hornet is reportedly still a go, despite recent rumors of its demise. In fact, word is out that Adam Sandler will take a ‘brief, but key role’ in the upcoming film.
