Steelers’ James Harrison named NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year
Steelers linebacker James Harrison has been named the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year, according to the Associated Press. Dallas linebacker DeMarcus Ware was second and Baltimore safety Ed Reed was third. – From Pittsburgh Post Gazette
Steelers outside linebacker James Harrison has been named the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year. Harrison set a Steelers single-season record with 16 sacks. The fifth-year veteran also finished with 100 tackles, seven forced fumbles and 10 quarterback hurries. Harrison, who did not play in the Steelers’ regular-season finale because of a hip pointer, got named to his second consecutive Pro Bowler earlier this season and was by Steelers’ MVP by his teammates. – From Pittsburgh Tribune Review
Linebacker James Harrison, the best player on the NFL’s best defense, won The Associated Press 2008 Defensive Player of the Year award. The announcement was made Monday. Harrison, whose career-high 16 sacks set a team record, also led the NFL with a career-high seven forced fumbles. He beat Dallas’ DeMarcus Ware in balloting by a nationwide panel of 50 sports writers and broadcaster. i belive that is a great choose to name james harrison from the pittsburgh steelers. NFL’s defensive player of the year, he has done alot for is team. helping putting them in the playoffs to play the san deigo chagers on saturday.
