No Repeat: Eagles Upend Giants in NFL Playoffs

The Giants’ run to the Super Bowl last season produced enough memories to last forever. At the very least, those memories will have to be enough to last the Giants for the next six months. The defending champions ran out of miracles Sunday as they meekly fell to the Philadelphia Eagles, 23-11, in an NFC Divisional playoff game, ending their quest to become the first Giants team in history to win back-to-back championships. It was a disappointing end to a remarkable season in which they entered the playoffs looking like the best team in the NFC. – From NY Daily News

The Giants won the Super Bowl last season with a stunning run through the postseason, a four-game sweep on the road, but they fell out of the playoffs this time with a whimper at home in their first outing. Against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday at Giants Stadium, they failed to score a touchdown, failed on two fourth-down runs and failed on two of five field-goal attempts as the Eagles defeated them, 23-11. – From NY Times
