NFL Draft Buzz: Mock drafts
Football is almost done for the year, so fanatics must keep the adrenaline going by pouring over all the reports of who their team will pick in April’s NFL Draft. There is no consensous #1 pick – but Georgia QB Matthew Stafford is there more than anyone. The one guy that appears in the top five for every draft is Texas Tech wideout Michael Crabtree. He’s probably the safest pick in the draft – and the guy I’d nab if I had the pick (of course, Detroit would be burned to the ground if they took another WR at the top of the draft). The Lions have need for a QB, so Stafford is the early favorite.
Here’s a rundown on the Mock Draft’s from around the Web:

MSNBC Mock Draft:
1. Detroit: QB Matthew Stafford, Georgia
A new regime and a new coach means the Lions must make a statement with the No. 1 pick. Stafford has all the tools, but is by no means a guarantee. The coaching staff must develop his talent. – From MSNBC
Don Banks’ Mock at SI.com
I know this might have slipped up on you, what with the regular season and the playoffs distracting us all, but the 2009 NFL Draft is just 94 days hence, and that means it’s time to get mocking. Don’t take these selections to the bank just yet. We’ve got more of these puppies coming between now and when the picking starts. – From SI.com
