Football Buzz: Browns hire Mangini, Pacman cut, Jagodzinski fired

Boston College stuck to its pledge – they fired head football coach Jeff Jagodzinski after he interviewed with NY Jets officials about the Jets coaching vacancy. BC Athletic Director Gene DeFilippo felt betrayed by Jagodzinski, and acted swiftly at the perceived betrayal. Personally, we’re tired of coaches constantly bolting – aren’t contracts a contract? Oh well.

The Cleveland Browns hired recently fired Jets coach Jeff Mangini. Nothing inspiring here — Mangini showed some spark, but his teams were uneven. Still, often smart guys like him do better second time around.

The Cowboys – looking to fix some of their personality issues – cut Pacman Jones. Jones was a non-factor, and even was suspended for six games for more off-field antics.
