Baseball Buzz: Cubs Deal Hill to O’s, Wuertz to A’s, rumors

The Ben Sheets to the Rangers movement has slowed, reportedly over Sheets desire for a two-year deal. The Rangers want to give a one year deal with an option.

The Cubs dealt SP Rich Hill to the Orioles for a player to be named later. Good pickup for the O’s – if Hill rebounds, they could get a middle of the order rotation.

The Cubs weren’t done after Rich Hill, then sending reliever Michael Wuertz to the A’s. Wuertz is a solid reliever – nice pick up. The Cubs clear Wuertz’s salary.

The Mets are reportedly close to getting Oliver Perez for 3 years, $36 million. Perez has some questionable numbers – mainly with his controld, but if he can maintain it, he’ll be successful.
