   Dear Illinois House and Senate:

   Blacks Organizing Leadership Development, BOLD writes the Illinois Legislature in supporting Governor Rod R. Blagojevich. According to your constitution it legally define a process and reasons for moving a seating Governor and it measures with great weight the latitude in which he performs his job. In addition, the Governor has the right to due process and a jury of his peers in order to face his accusers according to the United States Constitution. The law as read does not provide and/or gives constitutional or legal authority to the United States Senate to either admit or deny an appointment by the Governor for United States Senator. We also request that the Legislature demand that the Secretary of State perform his or her duties under Illinois State constitution to carry out those duties by certifying Mr. Burris as Illinois United States Senator. The denial of such appointment borders malfeasance and are grounds for impeaching him/her from office. Therefore, we believe as the nation goes through a series of change with the inauguration of President Elect Barack Obama, we don’t believe that our country can endure a distraction or dividing of a nation. Please review the attached letter we wrote to the Governor regarding our support and we pray that the nation adhere to President Abraham Lincoln’s last words…

   President Lincoln in his commitment to keeping the nation together wrote the magnificent words to the Gettysburg Address reminding us about self-worth and freedom. We pray and admonish the legislature not to move towards a national impeachment of a Governor to the contrary because our nation’s focus should be on changing a way of life for all Americans. We also request that the Legislature help us support enforcing the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, 1967, 1972, 1978 and the Community Service Act 1974 which was illegally repealed by Congress in 1981.

   “Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.
   Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-field of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this. But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate — we can not consecrate — we can not hallow — this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us — that from these

   honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion — that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain — that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom — and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”

   Dear Governor:

   My name is Rubin Young, President of an organization called Blacks Organizing Leadership Development, (B.O.L.D.) a group formed in 1990 for the purpose of positive change. As the leader of the nation’s first leadership development organization it is our desire to encourage you to stand firm on behalf of our American democracy while you face adversity in the midst of difficult times.

   It is very important for America to get passed establishing cases of division and unite this country under an umbrella of change that gives all Americans the enforcement of the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, 1967, 1972, 1978 and the Community Service Act of 1974. These acts have for the last 40 years been violated and illegal abolished by a Democratic Republican Congress in 1981 and yet the details surrounding these issues have not made any major head waves in a Free and Unbiased societal press. Therefore, in rendering your examples we know and understand the importance of our American democratic judicial system and where with all the ideas centering around “you are innocent until proven guilty”. The due process clause in the United States Constitution and the language noted within “Illinois State Constitution” gives numerous reasons for removing a Governor and the selling of a Senatorial seat isn’t one of the reasons. It does make mention to malfeasance but it doesn’t define it in nature because the legal definition is not defined by the state for a seating governor nor is it subscribed in the state constitution which leaves its interpretation to the United States Supreme Court. “Doing something that is illegal. This term is often used when a professional or public official commits an illegal act that interferes with the performance of his or her duties. For example, an elected official who accepts a bribe in exchange for political favors has committed malfeasance”, and/or this document doesn’t demonstrate why a state should for those reasons deny to it’s State’s Governor his constitutional rights under due process thereby trying a case in the press. B.O.L.D, believes that you should not resign from a people elected seat because you would then be abandoning your duties as assigned by state’s constitution and truly give the State a solid reason for impeachment. In addition, the United States Constitution doesn’t give the United States Senate any constitutional authority or judicial rights to confirm an appointment of your choice of vacancy for the United States Senate. Therefore, in our estimation your decision can only be challenged in a court of law and you must stand firm on behalf of former Attorney General Roland Burris for United States Senator.

   Governor Blagojevich we do not believe there has been any direct evidence or receipts showing that you attempted to sell a vacant public elected seat and we as an organization supports your decision to stand, and conduct your duties until determined otherwise.
