O Sarah Palin, Where Art Thou?

After the election, didn’t you think we’d hear more from Sarah Palin? Hmm, nothing, no big book deal, no big tv variety show on Fox News — is the Sarah Palin flame burning out? Well, here’s the latest on the talented Sarah Palin, Governer of the fine state of Alaksa — the world’s most famous hockey mom — and now I guess she’s the new Knight Rider?

Sarah Palin may be suffering in the wake of her party’s quiet, whimpering defeat to Barack Obama’s Democrats, but that hasn’t stopped her investing in a new toy. The ever eco-friendly Palin decided to splash out and purchase a 600 horsepower Dodge Viper! The 8.3 liter, V10 beast goes from 0-60mph in around 4 seconds and will go on to a somewhat plane-like 180mph! This outragous performance is, I’m sure lots of fun in Alaskas unspoilt tundra, but it does come at a price. Averaging around 12 miles per gallon, the Viper is one of the least economical cars on the road, meaining it uses about 2 – 3 times the fuel of your every day runaround. – from here

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin may have been lambasted by late-night comedians for her lack of foreign policy experience, but the failed Republican vice-presidential candidate seems to know a thing or two about Canada. In an interview with CTV’s Canada AM on Tuesday, Palin drew comparisons between her home state and the country north of the 49th Parallel that borders America. “We have our love of hockey, our love of the great outdoors and hunting and fishing and all those things that really attract us to this northern part of our globe,” said Palin. During her vice-presidential campaign, Palin’s comment “the difference between a hockey mom and a pitbull is lipstick” earned her a lot of fans among Canadian hockey moms. – from IHT

She suggested the contract is an example of cross-border co-operation that Democratic president-elect Barack Obama can learn from. “I want to grow the relationship we have with Canada,” Palin said. “I know Alaska is doing all we can to grow that relationship and we’ve gotta have faith that the newly elected administration will see the light on that and work very hard to increase and strengthen the relationship between our two countries.” – from CTV

Sarah Palin’s camp is denying claims she’s is snubbing talk show host Oprah Winfrey, telling CNN Monday the decision was “nothing personal” — the Alaska governor has just been flooded with so many media requests she simply hasn’t had the time to sit down with the daytime talk show icon. “The governor was invited to appear. She was also invited to appear on Letterman, Leno, Stephanopoulos, The Daily Show. She passed on a vast majority of these requests,” Bill McAllister, Palin’s communications director and press secretary. – from CNN

Senator John McCain’s presidential campaign spent more than $165,000 over the course of nine weeks on a trio of stylists for Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska, equivalent to what a Hollywood studio might invest in preparing an A-list actress for a movie premiere or publicity campaign, other stylists said. – from NYtimes
