Gaming Buzz: Major League 2K9, Guitar Hero, Pac Man, butt loads of iPhone games

Pac Man returns next year for its 30th birthday with a new game.

Here’s some nice behind-the-scenes work on Major League Baseball 2K9, with cover boy Tim Lincecum, the best frakin’ pitcher in baseball right now.

The iPhone has over 6,000 games available through its store. Most are shite, but hey, that we have so much shite to pick from is impressive.

Speaking of the iPhone, it’s nice seeing that games ported to it are starting to achieve the level of attention they deserve, and not just bad knockoffs to make a few bucks. Here are some impressive screen shots of Metal Gear Solid as an example.

Guitar Hero 5 is looking like it’s a September release. Activision will also be releasing a Hard Rock Van Halen in August and Band Hero in November. How long they can keep milking these, I don’t know. But power to them.
