“Knowing” tops weekend box office

Nicolas Cage’s Knowing topped the box office with a strong $25 million showing. I Love You, Man did well too, but Julia Roberts latest, Duplicity lagged a bit at $14.4 million. Not a terrible showing for Julia, but not great. The Rock’s Race to Witch Mountain also continued to pull in solid numbers, garnering an extra $13 million. The Watchmen will top $100 million next weekend, but it doesn’t have the legs the producers had hoped. Paul Blart finally dropped out of the top 10, ending his nearly yearlong run.
